We went to see the boy from Bellevue, the next Cy Young winner Tim Lincecum, do his thing against the Arizona Diamondbacks. After tonight he's 16-3 with a 2.49 ERA with 225 strikeouts. Amazing. twenty-four years old. A lot of fun to watch. I'll try not to think about Mariner scouting now.

We need some words of solace, dialed-in dawg! I'm on the brink of sanity here. Actually, I shouldn't write that but then again veracity is too cold and hard to hide in its rawest permutations. Can't wait to leave the States. In preparation, growing a beard like brother Mishka to fit in with the Soviets and reading Vasily Grossman's "A Writer at War." Check it out when you get a chance. Brutally dark, but uplifting and heroic. Go Steelers...but they didn't look too good the other night.
